It's over in seconds. Then it's hard to say what happened.

BauBau makes it easy to record every encounter with a reactive dog, and easy to see what they add up to. For the person holding the lead, and for the behaviourist helping them.

Why the record is usually missing

You're holding a lead, a dog and a bag of treats. Not a pen.

By the evening, a bad walk is a feeling, not a set of facts.

And the calm walks, the ones that show progress, are the ones nobody writes down.

Easy to record, right there on the walk.

Two ways, both made for one free hand. Tap the level and what set it off. Or hold the mic and talk.

Log Encounter for Charlie: level 5, Elevated, with the description frozen stare, hard eye, weight shifted forward, and trigger buttons below.
TapLevel and trigger in a couple of taps. What happened next can wait until you're home. A calm encounter is just the level, then Save.
The app's home screen with the new mic in the tab bar and the note: New, say what happened. Tap the mic and tell us about your walk.
Say itNew. Tap or hold the mic and tell it about the walk, up to two minutes. "Two dogs were fine, Joe at the gate went badly." It becomes one encounter for each meeting you describe, up to 20. Free includes 30 a month.
The Voice Note screen: three encounters from this note, two calm and one with a border collie that lunged and barked, each with its level marked as judged by software.
Turned into encountersSaved straight away, with the recording kept for 12 months and every word kept. A level you didn't say is marked as judged by the software, and you can change it.

Another dog on the walk. The lead is short and there is no hand free to type.

Once the dog has settled, the owner holds the mic and says: “On our walk just now, a spaniel came round the bakery corner, ten metres… she barked and lunged. A six. Earlier a cyclist passed close. She went stiff and stared. Buses, zero. She ignored them.”

The owner lets go to send. BauBau saves three encounters, one for each meeting: a 6, a 4 and a 0. The cyclist's 4 is marked as judged by the software, and the owner can change it.

The behaviourist listens to the note and replies under the encounter. The owner reads the reply later, at home.

One scale from 0 to 10, so a 5 means the same thing to everyone.

What level 5 looks like for Charlie. His behaviourist wrote it; his owner sees it every time they log.

Each level comes with a short description of what it looks like. A behaviourist can rewrite them for each dog, so owner and professional are using the same words about the same dog.

Easy to understand, once it's all in one place.

For the behaviourist helping you

When you share your dog, everything you log appears in your behaviourist's portal, beside their own notes. This is the real client page.

Marco and Myrto with their golden retriever Sissi, as a puppy, on a terrace in London.

We built the record we couldn't keep for Sissi.

Sissi, our golden retriever, reacts on the lead. When we worked with a behaviourist, effort wasn't our problem. Clarity was: we couldn't tell her what had really happened between sessions.

BauBau is our answer, built in London by Marco and Myrto with the owners and behaviourists who use it every week. Write to us at support@bau-bau.app.
